Klöckner Pentaplast presents two tray systems, for MAP and vacuum skin packs, that use 100% and 97% PCR, respectively.

At PACK EXPO International, Klöckner Pentaplast (kp) introduced two new products that cater to consumers’ growing interest in fresh products packaged in sustainable materials. Its new Elite and Evolve trays, from the kp Food & Consumer Products division, are designed for use with fresh-protein products and are available with a range of overwrap and lidding film options that increase food safety, maximize recyclability potential, and provide shelf impact.

Elite trays for MAP applications are made from 100% rPET that is fully recyclable. Said Justin Glass, kp’s Commercial Director, “Imagine being able to reduce plastic waste from ending up in the oceans and instead turning it into food-safe trays that can again be recycled.”

The Evolve a vacuum skin-tray packaging solution uses up to 97% post-consumer recycled content and can increase shelf life and preserve taste and texture. Said kp, Evolve offers a versatile and compact footprint for easy single packing and hanging tabs for vertical display options.
