Crown launches new lightweighting programme
2016-11-30

From:Packaging News

Crown Bevcan Europe has recently released CrownLibra, a lightweighting programme that is designed to address the challenges of material optimisation.

The program reflects the can maker’s sustainability strategy and its commitment to Metal Recycles Forever, which focuses on effectively managing and conserving resources without impacting the critical barrier and strength properties that beverage brand owners demand from metal beverage packaging.

The metal giant has also announced a partnership with Internet of Things (IoT) Smart Products Platform EVRYTHNG, resulting in the first application of IoT-enabled metal packaging.

Through this collaboration, Crown will provide serialised, on-product digital triggers to brands packaged in beverage, food and aerosol cans and specialty packaging tins at point of manufacture.

These triggers will be integrated with the EVRYTHNG platform to enable any consumer packaged good product to be Born Digital.

This integration will provide a smart package solution by using digitally-enabled products like CrownSmart and CrownSecure.
